Barack Obama could have used his Harvard Law degree to make big money. Instead, he chose to go home and make a difference.
It’s just… weird! On so many levels. I’m certainly not criticizing Obama. Great public service career. But this strikes more of the tone that he’s a great martyr for not going after the real big money. Maybe only lawyers get that vibe from this ad. Both of these things are sad.
I think I know what you mean. I asked this girl what she did after graduating from Brown with a degree in engineering and she told me that she taught school because she wanted to give something back. great stuff but being a engineer isn’t exactly a drain on society, don’t engineers “give something back” by being good engineers?
